Polysaccharides are of two main types.

2. Heteropolysaccharides

Heteropolysaccharides are further classified as:

a) GlycosAminoGlycans (GAGs)

b) Glycoconjugates

c) Mucilages

Proteoglycan is a type of glycoconjugates whereas heparan sulfate, dermatan sulfate and hyaluronic acid are examples of GAGs.

Parasitic bacteria rely on living hosts for nutrients and cause harm to the host, while saprophytic bacteria obtain nutrients from dead organic matter without causing harm to living organisms. Parasitic bacteria typically have specialized mechanisms for invading host cells, while saprophytic bacteria decompose organic material through extracellular enzymes.

Rainfall refers to the precipitation of water droplets from the atmosphere to the ground. Runoff, on the other hand, is the movement of excess water on the ground surface due to factors like saturation or impermeable surfaces. Essentially, runoff is the flow of water that occurs after rainfall.

Foliated rocks form under directed pressure, while unfoliated rocks form under non-directed pressure. Examples of foliated rocks include schist and gneiss, while examples of unfoliated rocks include marble and quartzite.

Aquifers are underground layers of rock or sediment that hold water and allow it to flow, while aquitards are layers of rock or sediment that restrict or slow down the flow of water. Aquifers are key sources of groundwater for drinking and irrigation, while aquitards act as barriers to the movement of water between aquifers.

Cloudburst is a form of precipitation along with the hailstones. Sometimes, the strong winds blowing upwards push the down pouring raindrops in the reverse direction, that is, towards the clouds. In this process, the raindrops change into hailstones and the clouds become heavier. These hailstones are so heavy that the upward winds cannot hold their weight. This results in a sudden heavy downpour along with the large hailstones. This is known as the cloudburst. Cloudburst is mostly seen in mountainous regions. In India, you can find such cloudbursts occur often in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. All heavy rains are not necessarily cloudbursts.

Radiculopathy is due to compression or irritation of a nerve root in the spine, causing symptoms like pain, weakness, or numbness in the corresponding area of the body. Myelopathy is due to compression or injury of the spinal cord itself, leading to symptoms like difficulty walking, loss of coordination, and changes in bowel or bladder function. Both conditions involve issues in the spinal cord or nerves, but radiculopathy is specific to nerve root compression while myelopathy involves the spinal cord directly.

Cluttering has a much more definitive cause and clearer symptoms. Its neurogenic link has been more thoroughly established.
