What are the differences and the similarities between mass and weight?
Every object has MASS. Its weight is dependent on the Gravitational Field it is immersed in. Weight changes based on position in the Gravitational Field. MASS is constant as long as the object stays intact.
What is the difference between a first class and a second class lever?
The main difference between a first class and a second class lever is the relative placement of the effort, load, and fulcrum. In a first class lever, the fulcrum is positioned between the effort and the load. In a second class lever, the load is between the fulcrum and the effort. Examples of first class levers include a seesaw, while examples of second class levers include a wheelbarrow.
How can you differentiate colors?
Colors are differentiated by their hue (the specific color itself, like red, blue, etc.), saturation (the intensity or purity of the color), and brightness (the lightness or darkness of the color). These three characteristics work together to create the wide range of colors that we perceive.
What is the difference between uniform velocity and on uniform velocity?
I assume you mean "non-uniform". "Uniform" simply means that the velocity (in this case) doesn't change.
What is the difference between gold and straw?
Gold is a precious metal that is known for its value and luster, while straw is a dried plant material used for various purposes like animal bedding or thatching roofs. Gold is typically yellow in color and is highly sought after for jewelry and investment purposes, whereas straw is light brown in color and is primarily used for practical applications in agriculture and construction.
What is the difference between synthesis and digestion?
Synthesis is the process of combining simple substances to form more complex ones, while digestion is the breakdown of complex substances into simpler ones that can be absorbed and used by cells. In synthesis, energy is usually required, whereas in digestion, energy is released as complex molecules are broken down.
What is the difference between polystyrene and Styrofoam?
Polystyrene is a synthetic aromatic polymer made from the monomer styrene. Styrofoam is a trademarked brand of expanded polystyrene foam, used for thermal insulation and craft applications. In general, polystyrene refers to the polymer, while Styrofoam specifically refers to the foam product.
What is the difference between nylon strings and steel strings?
Nylon strings are typically used on classical guitars and produce a warmer, mellow sound. Steel strings are commonly used on acoustic and electric guitars, producing a brighter, more metallic sound. Steel strings also require more tension and can be harder on the fingers compared to nylon strings.
When a body is moving with uniform velocity what is difference between distance and time?
Distance is the measure of how far an object has traveled regardless of time, while time is the duration taken to cover that distance. When a body is moving with uniform velocity, the distance covered is proportional to the time taken to cover that distance.
What is the difference between tarnishing and oxidation?
Tarnish is a thin layer of corrosion that forms over copper, brass, silver, aluminum, and other similar metals as their outermost layer undergoes a chemical reaction.Oxidation is defined as the interaction between oxygen molecules and all the different substances they may contact, from metal to living tissue. However, Tarnish does not always result from the sole effects of oxygen in the air. For example, silver needs hydrogen sulfide to tarnish; it does not tarnish with only oxygen. It often appears as a dull, gray or black film or coating over metal whereas oxidation usually results in brown or green.
Hope it helps!! :)
What is the difference between life on the reservation and rearden?
Life on the reservation typically refers to the land set aside for Native American tribes by the U.S. government, often characterized by limited resources and infrastructure. Rearden is a fictional metal in Ayn Rand's novel "Atlas Shrugged" that symbolizes innovation and progress. The comparison between life on the reservation and Rearden may highlight themes of struggle versus advancement, tradition versus modernity.
What is the differnece between centration and conservation?
Conservation is an aspect of Centration.
I'm assuming you are referring to piagets experiment, the row of nickels and the glasses of water. Centration (definition) is focusing on one characteristic to the exclusion of others. This is MEASURED by observing the childs sense of conservation.
What method can be used to distinguish between an element and a compound?
One method is to observe the physical properties of the substance. Elements are pure substances that cannot be broken down further, while compounds are made up of two or more elements chemically combined. Additionally, chemical tests can be done to see if the substance reacts in a characteristic way for a known element or compound.
What is the difference between blinds and curtains?
A curtain consists of a single piece of cloth material that is pulled together from both the ends to cover your window area.
A roller blind can be divided into two categories, soft blind and hard blind. Soft roller blinds can be made at home out of different fabrics. Visit superblindsmart.com.au
What is the only difference between coal and a diamond?
I think the only difference is the exposure to pressure and time ... (which is thousand years)
Also, diamond is much more dense and burns more cleanly into CO2 because it is pure carbon, unlike coal, which also has hydrogen in it.
+++
The first sentence above is wrong on time. Most of the world's coal reserves formed more than 300 million years ago, over some millions of years, in the Carboniferous Period. Not "thousand".
There is another, very big difference. Coal is a sedimentary rock, and hydrogen would not make it burn less cleanly - even if it could exist within coal as hydrogen alone. Most of the impurities in coal are sulphur and organic compounds.
Diamond occurs within certain igneous rocks formed at great depth hence great pressure and temperature.
What is the difference between evo 1 and 2?
The EVO 2 has inner lining that extends all the way up to the toes, whereas the EVO 1 only has lining that stops half way up the foot. This makes the EVO2 a better shoe to wear when it is cold and it won't cause problems for your feet with rubbing the way that the EVO 1 will.
What is the difference between steady flow and unsteady flow?
steady: A steady flow is one in which the conditions (velocity, pressure and cross-section) may differ
from point to point but DO NOT change with time.
unsteady: If at any point in the fluid, the conditions change with time, the flow is described as unsteady.
What is the difference between electrocuted and electrified?
Electrocuted means to be killed by electric shock. Electrified would actually be like making a wire or piece of metal or something of the like charged with electricity, but most people use the word the wrong way, and they mean it as: to be shocked.
What is a persons ability to tell the difference between artificial smells and real smells?
Well, there really isn't a term for that. Though you CAN tell the difference between a lot of smells, you can't really tell much difference between the two unless you have some familiarity with them.
What is the difference between talc and talcum powder?
Talc is a naturally occurring mineral composed of magnesium, silicon, and oxygen. Talcum powder is made from talc that has been mined and then processed to remove impurities. Talcum powder is often used in cosmetic and personal care products.
What is difference between covered and uncovered ion?
An ion is said to be covered when an atom though it has lost an electron and become positive continues to repel electrons because in the process of loosing electrons it is surrounded by negative energy.
This bending of electromagnetic waves when they pass from one medium to another with different densities is called refraction. Refraction occurs due to the change in speed of the waves as they move from one medium to another, causing them to change direction.
Typically, an electronegativity difference greater than 1.7 is considered the dividing line between ionic and covalent bonds. If the difference is equal to or greater than 1.7, the bond is considered ionic, while if it is less than 1.7, the bond is considered covalent.
What are two similarities and two differences on carbon and energy?
Similarities: 1) Both carbon and energy are essential for life and are interconnected in various biological processes. 2) They both play a crucial role in sustaining ecosystems and are essential components of the carbon cycle.
Differences: 1) Carbon is an element found in all living organisms, while energy can take various forms such as chemical, thermal, or kinetic. 2) Carbon exists in different forms (e.g., organic, inorganic), while energy can be categorized as potential, kinetic, or radiant energy.
Diabetics have higher levels of glucose in their urine compared to normal individuals. Testing for glucose in urine with a dipstick can indicate elevated levels associated with diabetes. Additionally, other substances like ketones may also be present in the urine of diabetics, providing further diagnostic information.
