The Hunger Games

Katniss Everdeen is a brave girl with some pretty fierce "kick-butt" action and clever thinking. In fact, after the Hunger Games, in Catching Fire she's not as afraid of death as in the beginning. Katniss would risk her life for Peeta--SPOILER ALERT! as in Catching Fire when she said she wanted to risk her life for Peeta, because he was so nice and all Peeta really wanted to do was protect Katniss out of his undying love for her-- because she really is a fair person.

She feels like she has a bunch of responsibilities especially when she had to win the Hunger Games for Rue and Prim, when she had to take care of Prim, when she had to--SPOILER ALERT!-- heal Peeta in the Hunger Games and illegally shoot game in the woods for her family to eat. SPOILER ALERT! Even getting more tessarae and adding her name in extra times at age twelve so her family could survive.

Since she knew that the Careers weren't used to dealing with hunger, she blew up their food to eliminate it as one of their food sources. This would make them weaker and easier to kill.

To my knowledge, President Snow ruled Panem during the 'war' and the games. But in the third and final book, Mockingjay, President Coin is supposed to rule Panem. Read the books or please pay more attention, you'll get the dialouge much better and will love the series!

There are the sequels or there is Rescue Josh McGuire, by Ben Mikaelsen.(hatchet is my favorite book!)

Katniss and Gale met when she was 12 years old. She was looking at his snares and he accused her of stealing, telling her stealing was punishable by death. They became best friends and he eventually fell in love with her. She didn't know this until Catching Fire. She loved him, too, but things were complicated since she had to play things right that she was DESPERATELY in love with Peeta. The relationship she had with each of them was difficult. She loved Peeta, but not as much as Gale. She and Peeta began to slip apart in Mockingjay. I haven't finished that book yet, so I don't know how it ends. I think Katniss is better with Peeta, because he has loved her since they were five years old, which means he'd loved her for eleven years. Gale only loved her for a while, I say about four years at the most. Peeta will always be The Boy With The Bread to Katniss, but Gale will always be her best friend.

Because sci-fi is considered science that exists in the future and the timeline of the Hunger Games trilogy takes place in the future; the location of the districts is in the ruins of what was once North America

she is katniss' sister and in the last book she gets killed by a bomb that gets dropped by gale ( who thought prim was safe at home not in the square where his enemies were) katniss's best freind

At the beginning of 'The Hunger Games', Katniss lives in an area of District 12 called 'The Seam', where the less-wealthy inhabitants live. Later, she gains a large home in Victor's Village.

No offense, but that is a vague question.

However, some key differences are:

Capitol is very bright and colorful, while the Seam is washed out looking.

Capitol has very weird and awkward fashion, while the Seam is more practical.

Capitol people have excess everything, while people of the Seam have to struggle for survival.

She doesn't get to see Peeta because Peeta wants to kill her. Peeta was kidnapped by the Capitol and they used trackerjacker venom to corrupt the images of Katniss in Peeta's head so that when he sees her, he will try to kill her.

Fox-Face doesn't have a real name Katniss just calls her Fox-Face, also Fox-Face is from district 8.

Actually Jacqueline Emerson (who portrays Foxface) has announced she knows Foxface's real name which may be revealed in Mockingjay (movie). Fox face is from district 5 who is 15 years old and died from the deadly nightlock berries.

I'm not sure if this is true, but in the movie, Caesar supposedly says her name is Finch Crossly.

Gale hunts food for Katniss and Peeta gave Katniss some bread. They both try to protect her.

The opening scene informs the reader about Katniss, her love for Prim, her mother and of course Gale. It also lets us know about the Hunger Games - what it is and why people loath it. It's just a scene that gets you started in on the book, informing you about the characters and the Hunger Games, itself.

Katniss had dreams about her fathers death.

Josh Hutcherson will be playing Peeta Mellark in Catching Fire. It will be him because he played Peeta in the first film, The Hunger Games, and they usually won't change actors. Also, Josh did an excellent job playing Peeta in the first film, and I don't think anyone would want them to replace him.

At the end of the Hunger Games themselves (near the end of the book), the rules change so that there can be only one victor. So, since Peeta and Katniss have to be "the two star-crossed lovers from District 12", they both deside to kill themselves instead of killing either one. As soon as they ALMOST ingest the explosive berries that killed Foxface, it is announced that there can be two victors. So they both live. Then, after they are sent back to the Capitol and are rich and famous, President Snow sees that "fake" suicide as a rebellion against him and the Capitol. Now, in the end/second book, Katniss has to prove to President Snow and the citizens of Panem that the almost-suicide was out of love, not rebellion. And since Peeta actually loves Katniss and she doesn't, it is complicated.

I think the first was when she wore the mockingjay pin. But I am SURE that one of them was when Peeta and Katniss tried to eat the poison berries so there would be no victor for that years Hunger Games and they wouldn't have to kill each other. I haven't finished reading Mockingjay yet. A sixth grader has a lot to do. I'll tell you once i finsh

A very long and expensive time. That's why I think they picked the cast in 2010 and is coming out at the end of 2011. :)

Well, Katniss had almost forgotten about Peeta, but then when his name is called her first thought is that this is the guy who gave me bread when I was starving, he saved my life, and now I have to kill him?

In the first installment of The Hunger Games, Rue was the twelve year old girl tribute for District Eleven. She is later Katniss' nimble ally and friend. When Rue and Katniss set out to distroy the Careers' food Rue is caught and is killed by the boy from District 1. Katniss kills him, and Rue dies while Katniss sings to her. She was her best good friend.

That she would not survive.

Katniss recieves the broth after kissing Peeta. Katniss takes this as a message from haymitch that says "If you kiss Peeta, you will get sponsors" So that is why the broth is sent, because haymitch is trying to send her a message. Hope this helped (:
