• Beetee-The male tribute from District 3. He is an inventor, and is proficient in using wire as a weapon, usually in combination with electricity. In the third book he is seen as one of the scientists who works in District 13, and helps Gale develop bombs along with the same idea that Coin used to kill Prim. He is part of the committee that gathers at the end of the book that votes to hold a final Hunger Games. He is described as an older man with dark hair, pale skin and glasses.
• Wiress-The female tribute from District 3. Wiress often doesn't finish her sentences; Beetee sometimes finishes them for her. Although she is an inventor like Beetee, her genius manifests itself in different ways-she is very intuitive and figures out that the arena worked like a clock before anyone else does. She is killed when Gloss from District 1 slits her throat. She is somewhere in her 30's and has dark hair and pale skin.

It's about Katniss and her friends rebelling against the Capitol. They move to District 13 and become soldiers.

Excuse Me, madame or mister, but I believe there is no 'Goat Man' in the hunger games.

Gale designed a bomb which would go off once, then people would rush over to help the injured, and it would go off again. During the last day of the battle the rebels used this bomb but made it look like the Capitol were the ones who used it.

A group of children were involved in the first attacks and the rebels sent in their own medics to help, one of whom was Primrose Everdeen, Katniss' sister. The second bomb then exploded killing Prim.

As Gale was involved in the design of the bomb, Katniss wouldn't ever be able to be with him without being haunted by the fact that he may have killed her sister - and he certainly designed the bomb which did.

Gale knows he has lost her because of this and accepts that any chance she had of loving him, is gone. Gale then goes to District 2, while Katniss is sent back to District 12.

At the end of Mockingjay, Gale moves to District 2 and gets a 'fancy job' working for the new government. Katniss ends up picking Peeta because he is a good compatibility for her personality, and because she can't get over what Gale did - he structured the tactic that killed Prim.

They start to put the poisoness berries, nightlock, in their mouths and Claudius Templesmith announces they are the victors before they eat them.

Willow Shields is to be Primrose Everdeen in the Hunger Games movie, which should be released March 23, 2012.

Career tributes are tributes from Districts 1 and 2 (and 4 in the book, but not in the movie)

They have trained for the games their whole lives, even though it is illegal, however they are favoured by the Capitol and so are not punished. The fact they have trained gives them the upper hand and so they usually win. They wait until they are 17 or 18 and then volunteer at the Reapings as they have a very high chance of winning the games.

They are a threat to the other, less well-off tributes as they have skills that they have perfected over many years.

A connection?

Well first off the first book is The Hunger Games, second is Catching Fire, and third is Mockingjay.

They're all great books, and if you mean like a connection to the books (all three of them) well you can sort of feel the pain, ESPECIALLY in Mockingjay with all of the deaths, and then Rue and Prim, you can feel a connection with them....

First of all, the capitol is in charge of all the districts, and nobody in the capitol competes in the hunger games. Second of all, they have better technology then everyone else (except maybe district 13), and a higher standard of living. Lastly, while everything is strict and it is very hard to even get food in the districts, people in the capitol are free and take almost everything for granted.

The book doesn't say. Neither does the movie. But the consensus of most educated readers is around 200 years from now. Also, there is a petty poster here who likes to read their own text. In my last response, I gave a reasonable timeline of events, added to their answer, but then they came back and deleted all of it except their response. To the person who did it, You're a slimeball! After you have deleted this response, why don't you go and delete something educational off Wikipedia that took a lot of research, time and typing?!

Peeta in The Hunger Games interview with Ceaser Flickerman, gains all the attention because he has claimed that he likes Katniss, that he's always "had a crush since they were young."

*SPOILER ALERT*

In CATCHING FIRE, Peeta gains all the attention (again) in the interview because he has said that him and Katniss have already married. Then, he says always happy until "the baby" comes along into their lives (Katniss wasn't actually pregnant, it was just an act, later on when she comes back out of the arena they say that she had a "miscarriage")

Well District Thirteen consider Katniss's weakness to be that she is too rash and doesn't follow orders. Another weakness that you see evidence of in the book and supports District Thirteen's theory is that she doesn't always think things through. However some might call the people she cares about her weakness because the Capitol tries to use them (Peeta and Gale are both used. Prim and her Mother and even Madge would be other examples of potential) or break them to break Katniss.

Yes, I would. Depending on your age, it would be VERY interesting for you. I am 12 years old and I have read the series 9 times! The book is almost IMPOSSIBLE to put down, and it is SO suspensful. I have been able to convince my whole class to read, including the teachers, and they all loved it! My GRANDMA also read it and she thought it was amazing. Katniss Everdeen will always be the biggest star for people, and after reading the book, she is UNFORGETABLE!

Rue gets killed by a Career tribute, Marvel. He set up a snare that Rue fell into, and then Rue starts to call Katniss' name. Katniss heard her and rushes to find her, assuming she was in danger. In the novel, when Katniss gets there, Marvel immediately spears Rue in the stomach, but in the movie, Katniss cuts Rue down, gets her out of the net, and hugs her. Then when Katniss lets go of Rue, Marvel then shoots the spear, Katniss doges it, making it hit Rue. In the movie and the book, Katniss shoots an arrow at Marvel, but in different places. In the movie, he is shot in the heart, and immediately dies, but in the book, he is shot in the neck, and drowns to death in his own blood. In both, Katniss sings her song, "Rue's Lullaby," to Rue only after she requests for Katniss to sing. In both the movie and the book, Katniss decides that she needs to show the Capitol that Rue was more than part of their Games because she can't, so she goes to the nearest flower bush, collects some flowers, and covers Rue with them. After Rue is completely surrounded by beautiful flowers, Katniss kisses Rue's forehead, stands up and then kisses and raises three of her fingers, which is a gesture of 'goodbye' in District 12. She then leaves Rue, and doesn't look back.

There are several primary climaxes in the books. (Spoiler Alert): One turning point for Katniss is when she takes Rue on as an ally. Another is when they blow up the Careers' food supplies. The biggest climax in the middle of the book is when Katniss learns that both she and Peeta can make it out alive, and rescues and restores him to health. The main climax of the book throughout would be the final bout between Katniss, Cato, and Peeta; and Katniss outsmarting the gamemakers and almost committing suicide. A great book has many turning points, and these are the biggest in terms of character development and action scenes.

I've read the whole trilogy and the complication is there are 2 really great cute guys who are in LOVE with Kattniss and she does'nt know which one to choose,they would anything for her even die and kill. Also there are the games , the rebellion , the threat and so so many deaths - sierra williams
