@ The Asker: sorry, it hasn't been announched yet who Toph will be. But it should be someone Asian, as the Earth Kingdom is Asian in The Last Airbender.

Shyamalan's logic on that point is fundamentally flawed. The Airbenders were clearly styled after buddhist monks. Buddhist monks are Asian. Sokka's fencing instructer told him "Li" would be a good alias in the Fire Kingdom, because "there are a ton of those runnung around." Li is a largely Chinese name, and last I checked, makes the Fire Nation also Asian. The only Non-Asians are the Water Bender Tribes, and Inuit/Eskimo is pretty much the in between for Asians and the other Native Americans, at least the North American tribes. It's a little late to worry about getting the races right.

But the Council of Five wanted Aang to go to the Eastern Air Temple to even pursue becoming the Avatar. But Aang fled with his Sky Bison Appa. They got caught in a storm and they were pushed into the ocean by its waves. Fortunately, Aang unknowingly triggered his Avatar State. With that, he made an air sphere which covered him and Appa. The sphere got near the Southern Water Tribe which made the air sphere frozen. That was for 100 years.

It is currently scheduled to be in theaters July 2, 2010, and it will be about what happened throughout the first "book" (season). There are four "Books" to the series. The original name of the book and television series was Avatar: The last air bender. They go about the first "Book" explaining how the fire nation invades other nations (Earth water air) And how the entire air nation's were eliminated, because they were mainly to peaceful to fight back and how Ang fled at the beginning of the war.

Yes, most people are saying it's bad based on ethnic issues although all of the characters in the show were based on specific ethnicities. The bending was good, but instead of flowing with the moves, the bending happened afterwards. That + Iro being poorly cast + poor name pronunciations + the end scene (won't spoil it for people) = Why everyone thinks it's a bad movie. But honestly, it really is great, especially for those that haven't followed the show. A lot did have to be cut out because it was multiple episodes condensed into about an hour and a half. The story stuck pretty true, and there were even some tear-jerking moments. My suggestion, go for the show/storylines, stay for the acting and pretty good writing (except maybe some of Katara's lines)

In an interview in the avatar (Or Nick) Magazine, it stated that there were others that survived the attacks, but they have yet to be seen.Even if he is thelast airbender when the new avatar comes along just like there are waterbending scrolls, theremust be fire,earth,and airbending scrolls.hope this helps...

Bumi is the crazy king from the city of omashu. Aang's fire nation friend Kuzon should have stayed alive too! Bumi is a very powerful earthbender like toph (they both say that they are the greatest so they should fight each other)

I don't think there will be a new movie. A lot of fans were very disappointed, but on the flip side there are a few fans who were. We just have to wait and see.
