A lot of people are saying The Last Airbender movie is terrible and the cartoon is better even thought that is said is it worth still seeing the movie?

Yes, most people are saying it's bad based on ethnic issues although all of the characters in the show were based on specific ethnicities. The bending was good, but instead of flowing with the moves, the bending happened afterwards. That + Iro being poorly cast + poor name pronunciations + the end scene (won't spoil it for people) = Why everyone thinks it's a bad movie. But honestly, it really is great, especially for those that haven't followed the show. A lot did have to be cut out because it was multiple episodes condensed into about an hour and a half. The story stuck pretty true, and there were even some tear-jerking moments. My suggestion, go for the show/storylines, stay for the acting and pretty good writing (except maybe some of Katara's lines)

Absolutely not, it was an embarrassment to a great animated television series. The dialogue in the movie was very static and very unrealistic which took away from the movie experience. The only thing that could've made up for the poor dialogue was the action but even then, that just didn't cut it. I still love my Nickelodeon cartoon more than that movie....

it is pretty good. they took out the funny parts like sokka's sarcasm but it is still good. they changed the story a bit but if you think about it all the parts are there but combined. I think that the animated series is MUCH better than the new movie. The series has more detail and comedy. Its just not sokka without some sokkasam

In my opinion, its not as good as the cartoon. Why? They changed too much of what we know in the cartoon. Instead of Aang, you will hear Ang. The same as Sokka, it will sounds like So-ka. They also changed how book 1 will end. Instead of the walking Koi Fish avatar state, they changed into a giant tsunami that didn't even do anything. I expected much more, but instead they just killed the fun of defeating the invasion. Also, since I heard they're gonna make a movie the out the rest of the books, just hope they make it better than book 1 movie.
