Paul McCartney used the pseudonym Paul Ramon when checking into hotel rooms and such. Doug Colvin (founding member of The Ramones) adopted the name Dee Dee Ramone, in a sort of homage to McCartney. When did The Ramones break up?
On August 6, 1996 the Ramones performed their 2,263rd and last concert, which had been announced as the final show, in advance, by Joey Ramone. They never actually broke up. After 2263 live shows they just stopped performing.
Johhny was ill with cancer. Joey was also chronically ill. Marky and Dee-Dee had substance abuse problems. Tommy was producing other music. They had been conservative with their earnings and did not need to keep touring.

Although I'm sure this question just is a joke there was an incident in 1977 when Joey injured himself backstage shortly before a show with a boiling kettle. He would breathe in the hot fumes of a boiling kettle to loosen up his airways and voice before every show and on this occasion the kettle supposedly exploded in his face showering him with boiling water. Unbelievably the show still went ahead with Joey's face and hands covered in medical cream. Johnny Ramone remembers looking up at Joey during the show and seeing a large piece of skin hanging between the microphone and Joey's face. This incident and it's aftermath inspired their classic song "I Wanna Be Sedated".

One is that Paul McCartny(plays bass in the beatles) used the name Paul Ramone when the Beatles were know as the Silver Beatles. they adopted the name as a salute to Paul and the Beatles. Another explanation is that while in the Beatles, Paul would use the surname Ramone when checking into hotels to hide his true identity. Dee Dee said the band liked producer Phil Ramone (Billy Joel, Simon and Garfunkel).

1986. It was written for the soundtrack of the movie Sid & Nancy but contractual disputes prevented any Ramones songs ebing used in the movie. It was recorded during the Animal Boy sessions but was left off the album eventually being released as a UK single b-side. However it later became regarded as on the strongest tracks of the bands later period and was reissued on "All The Stuff And More Vol.2", "Hey Ho Let's Go - The Anthology" and "Weird Tales Of The Ramones".
