The Temptations is a singing group of at least 5 males, formed in the 1960s under many different moniker's they finally surfaced as the Temptations and became one of the most successful groups in music history. The performers within the group changed frequently as did their genres over the years, R&B, soul, adult contemporary, doo-wop, funk, disco and rock. Did the Temptations write their own songs?
No. Most of the Temptations songs(of the old Motown record label) were written by song writers such as Holland, Dozier, and Holland. They also wrote for a lot of the other artists as well. The musicians playing on the recordings by the Temptations, Four Tops, Smokey & The Miracles, etc. were all the same fellows at "Hitsville USA," the name of the recording studios. These were "Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)" in 1971, and "Papa Was A Rollin' Stone" in 1972.
