If you have read the books, Season 1 of the Vampire Diaries surrounds the ending of the first book (the combined version, not the separate books as they were when they first came out in the 1990s). So no, it's probably going to keep on surrounding the books (there are now 4 books).

Well I don't know exactly what will happen in s3, but I have guesses. Elena will turn into a vampire or wake up as one, Elena will show some flirtation to Damon, Elena and Stefan break up for real real.

Also, it depends on what book or episode you are on. If you mean the latest book, Damon becomes a human again. If you mean the Vampire Diaries episodes, well, you just have to tag along to understand.

In the Fury, she's a vampire but is killed.

So, she's dead and can only talk to her friends through ouji boards and with Bonnie's help. But she doesn't stay dead, but i don't want to ruin the book for youu lol.

The books are classified as 'Young Adult' literature, so I'd say older teens would enjoy it. The show would also be suited to older teens as there is a fair amount of scary scenes in it, which would be more suitable for older teens.

In the books Stefan did his best to please their father, while Damon ran rampant, womanizing and dropping out of university. As Italian nobles, this reflected badly on the family and Damon got in a lot of trouble.

Since Stefan was well behaved and dedicated, their father hoped for his marriage to Katherine, a German noble, and tried to keep her away from Damon.
