Yes, JK Rowling was involved in the creation of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park attractions. She provided input and guidance on various aspects of the park to ensure they stayed true to the world she created in the Harry Potter books.
It is a section of the Islands of Adventure theme park owned by Universal Studios in Orlando Florida that is devoted to the world of Harry Potter.
Just one, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, Florida.
It is likely that there will only ever be one.
Work is well underway for an additional WWoHP at Universal Studios California
I went on the ride today after reading loads of threads online about if it was scary or not. I really don't like big coasters and scary rides, but I have been on a few with my girlfriend whilst I have been out in Orlando.
First thing is first- it is NOT horrible or scary or intense at all. It is the smoothest ride I have ever been on, really feels like gliding around. You WILL go up and down and tilt on your back for a very short time (mere seconds) but it is all so smooth it really does not make you feel bad at all. There are no horrible coaster style drops where your stomach turns. Make sure you ignore the videos as you approach the ride that show the riders going upside down, IT DOES NOT HAPPEN. That video nearly put me off.
Probably the only bit anyone will have trouble with are the bits with the videos, which can seem fast, and do simulate flying down cliffs and similar (you don't feel the drops, it is important to remember that) but my tip for this is if you feel scared just look directly up or down, or to your extreme right or left. If you do that you can see the edge of the projection screen and you can tell easily that you are just facing a screen and not moving. I did this on my first time round at the start and then started gradually forcing myself to watch the screen. By the end of my first ride I was loving it and throwing myself into every movement the screen made. I went on 3 times in total and loved it more each time.
My final tip is to just go totally limp and let the floaty ride take you, it is actually really relaxing, it really is that smooth! If you have been on the Simpsons Ride, Spiderman or even Wild Arctic at SeaWorld, you will easily be able to take Harry Potter as HP is so much more smooth (and fun!) It is not jerky like the other rides mentioned, which is what makes me feel nervous.
Hope this can help people who were doing the same frantic research as me! Enjoy!!!
It's always packed, so it's worth travveling with virgin atlantic to get early morning entry before the park opens, with complimentary breakfast at the three broomsticks pub :)
The Harry Potter area is included in the tickets to Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. You must purchase the full Islands of Adventure ticket. For a Florida Resident 1 Day base ticket, it costs $76.50 for an adult, and $71.10 for a child.
The Harry Potter theme (along with all the other songs from the films) were composed by John Williams, who is also famous for writing the musical scores for the Star Wars films.
Penelope Clearwater is a Ravenclaw student and prefect from the Harry Potter franchise. She is also Percy Weasley's girlfriend during his time at Hogwarts. Though the movie did not mention it, she was petrified with Hermione in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. In fact, it was Penelope's mirror that they were using to look around corners with. Penelope can be seen in the hospital bed next to Hermione in the movie. (The blonde with her back facing the camera.)

Harry Potter is a story of an "ordinary" boy who lost both his parents in what he was told was a car accident. His parents were actually killed by a dark wizard called Lord Voldemort, better known as You-Know-Who. Voldemort also tried to kill Harry but failed, leaving Harry the only person ever to survive the Killing Curse and destroying Voldemort in the process. The seven books are about Harry, who discovers he is a wizard, battling Voldemort to defeat him once and for all.
A lot of stuff
Mhm a lot of stuff!
"The Three Broomsticks Inn," a restaurant with typical British dishes and "The Hog's Head Pub" where you can sip on spirits and drinks inspired by those in the Harry Potter stories.
You can tour the school, drink some butterbeeer, see the Hogwarts Express and much more!
No. Hogwarts was damaged in the battle but was repaired and re-opened in time for the next school year.
Teddy Lupin, the son of Remus and Nymphadora (Tonks) Lupin. Teddy was named after Ted Tonks, Nymphadora's father who died shortly before Teddy was born. Harry was chosen by Remus to be Teddy's godfather.
No, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is a 20 acre section of Universal Studios Islands of Adventure.
The theme park in Orlando will never "end." WWOHP is not a display, but a permanent park, not unlike Disneyland. It will stay there, just as Disneyland will, because it attracts so many tourists!
In fact, WWOHP is not a park in itself, but a section of "Islands of Adventure", kind of like "Fantasyland" is a section of Disneyland.
Hope it helps!
2010.
I would guess late spring, early summer, so that they can make money in-season.
The only way is to have a dress maker/ tailor design one from a picture from the movie or a description from the book .
Ron is mean to Malfoy because Malfoy is mean to Ron. Malfoy often makes degrading jokes about Ron, and often witty, but painful remarks.
(Plus, he knew (heard from his Dad) that Draco's father was a supporter of Voldemort.)
He is played by Tom Hank's son Tom Hanks Jr.
