How can you get into the University of Illinois?
As a proud honors graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, I recommend that you visit their website (uiuc.edu). They should be able to provide entrance requirements. Each college within the university has their own requirements, and they only seem to become more diffcult as years go by. I do know they want well-rounded students. They want high gpa's and SAT/ACT scores, but they don't want students who only study and have no lives. It is extremely important to participate in extracurricular activities while in high school. It is also not a bad idea to do volunteer work. They want leaders and people who have lives outside of the classroom. Many people apply to the great U. of I. You need to set yourself apart and show how you would be an asset to their campus. (As I recall, they actually asked if I went to high school football games on their applications. I don't know if they still do, but they at least used to ask what else you did in high school besides study!) Be sure not to lie on your application either. Be sure to visit the campus as well, if you haven't done so already. They provide tours of the campus for prospective students. Oh, and if you get in, be sure to climb the Alma Mater in the middle of the night and kiss her cheek. It's supposed to be good luck! Good luck!
What SAT score do you need to get into a university?
There's no blanket requirement at all. In fact, more and more colleges are ceasing to require the SATs. And if school isn't your strong point, yet you want to pursue education past high school, check out state schools and community colleges in your area.
On a personal note, I got accepted to a school with a "hard limit" of 1300 posted on their website. My score was 1190.
