What is the value of 1974 US 5 dollar bill with 2 different serial numbers?

You should have your bill evaluated in person by a dealer or appraiser who works with error currency. Depending on its condition it could retail for $100 to $200, although some auctions have gone higher.

Serial numbers are printed by two mechanical counters. They're supposed to always be in sync but sometimes one will get stuck. Normally the problem is discovered quickly and corrected but once in a while mismatched bills will accidentally slip through quality control.

What is the value of a 1953 b orange 5 dollar bill?

There is no such note. There are red seals and blue one however, the USTreasurey never issued orange seal notes. If it has an orange seal, it is actually a red seal that has been chemically treated. This is a scam that new collectors are falling prey to. Please search online and see others who warn people of this scam. I was a victim to it. I make it a point to warn everyone.

The percentage of each denomination varies widely from year to year, but over time $2 bills have made up about 1% of all bills.

Interestingly, perhaps due to their use by transit systems, as part of promotions, and/or at some national parks, the number of $2 bills printed has increased slightly over the last decade. The most recent printings were in the 2009 and 2013 series.

What is the highest denomination US bill in circulation?

The 100 dollar bill is the highest bill currently available to the public.

Prior to 1969, the US also circulated bills with denominations of $500, $1000, $5,000 and $10,000. However all but the $500 bill were rarely used. In July of that year President Nixon ordered that banks cease distribution of all bills higher than $100 in an effort to reduce money-laundering by organized crime.

High-value bills have never been officially withdrawn or demonetized so they're technically still legal to spend at face value, but you could get a lot more for most of them as collectibles.

Also, from 1934 to 1935 the US printed a $100,000 gold certificate that was used for transactions within the government, but these were not available to the public.

What US dollar denomination was discontinued in 1966?

No denomination of coin or bill was discontinued in 1966. You may be thinking of the printing of United States Notes, which were a form of currency that circulated along with Federal Reserve Notes.

US Notes were distinctive because their seals and serial numbers were printed in red ink, rather than green. They were printed in much smaller numbers than FRN's and served the same purpose, so they were discontinued as a cost-saving measure effective with the 1966 series of $100 bills.
