What is the scoring system in volleyball called?

It depends on what level you are playing at. I play on my high school team and we use rally score. We go up to 25 points and you have to be at least two points ahead to win the game. For example if the score was 25-24 the game would not be over the winning team would have to get one more point to win the game.

Rally scoring is when you win the volley [the ball hits the floor on the other teams side or out on your side etc.] you get a point whether or not your team served the ball. In 8th grade we used the original scoring way. We only went to 15 points then but you still had to win by two points. The original scoring is when you have to serve the ball and win the volley in order to get a point.

What are the positions for beach volley ball?

Scoring: Beach volleyball are best played in three sets. The first two sets are played to 21 points. The final tie breaker is played to 15 points. A team must win a set by two points. There is no ceiling, so a set continues until the two point advantage is made. Right Side or Left Side: Two players evenly split the court. Left-handers usually perfer the right side, and right-handers vice versa. Play Front Court or Back Court: The better defender keeps to the back of the court to make digs, while the player in the front of the court spikes the ball and defends the front court. Playing the Game- Most players have what they call a "bag of tricks". They know if they go out there and wear themselves out in the beginning they have no chance in winning. That's why their are a variety of shots and defense moves, so that they can maintain their energy the whole time.

What determine who will serve first in a volleyball game?

I think that the people in the team that is serving will decide who is going to serve. I think that you just start with the team who wants to serve first.... (plz correct me if I am wrong!!!!)

youre incorrect :) i play varsity and it is decided by a coin flip...The coaches choose two captains and they and the captains of the other team flip a coin and whoever wins the coin toss decides if they want the serve or if they want to give it to the opposing team...

The two team members either flip a coin or do rock paper sciccors to determine who will serve first.

Is a block considered on of the allowed hits in volleyball?

Whoever answered this initially was wrong. In indoor volleyball a block does not count as a contact, but in outdoor beach volleyball it DOES count as a contact. This is one of the only incidences in which indoor and outdoor volleyball differ in rules (the only other major difference being that players can cross under the net as long as they aren't interfering with the other teams play). The person blocking is still allowed to hit the ball afterwards for the teams second contact however without it counting as a double hit. I got this from the rules and regulations listed in the FIVB website, which is the international federation for volleyball so it's a rather credible source.

When the ball hits the boundary line it is considered volleyball?

It depends on how the ball went out of play. If the ball was hit out along the sidelines then the team that didn't hit it out will get a though in. A goal kick is awarded when the ball is hit past the end line by the attacking team without scoring a goal. When the defending team hits the ball past their own end line then the other team will get a corner kick.
