There are little dirt patches in certain places, and if you put the cursor over it, then a shovel will show up. It will tell you how close you are to the item you're looking for by "hot and cold."

there are patches of dirt you'll see in certain areas and you wave your cursor over the patches of dirt and a shovel will appear. click on the patch of dirt and you will dig. When you dig it will tell you if you are cold, warm, or hot to the item you are looking for. you can also find bonus items if you dig certain hidden areas.

It is completely random. Some claim that they win if they hit it somewhere specific, but this isn't the same for many other accounts.

First you actually have to unlock Fairy Falls Charms in the Magical Forest. After that, every now and then a fairy will have a key. Wave the key around the forest to look for a magic door. A magic door will have more than 1 Pixie Pod inside!
