Is it ok to take Wellbutrin XL and smoke weed?
The Receptors that absorb THC are in no way related to how Wellbutrin XL is absorbed into your system. I guess I didn't even look into it before I tried it lol. Weed will never effect another drug you are taking. You may feel like your more high then usual but it's all in your head. I am an avid pot smoker and have been taking Wellbutrin for about 4 months. If anything, the wellbutrin helps you with the side effects of pot. Now everyone knows that pot really isn't bad for you at all (except for your lungs of course), but it does make you lazy and unmotivated. Where as the Wellbutrin actually decreases those effects. In my case almost eliminating the lazyness. I feel really ambitious and I've been getting a lot more done lately, but at the end of the day I can come home and smoke a j and take the load off. I am not suggesting smoking pot but with my personal experiences I think the two co-exist quite wonderfully together. I am no longer depressed and I'm enjoying my life to the fullest.

I have been on 20 mgs of Prozac for 15 years and have done fine with combining it with many things. However, I ended up in the emergency room one evening after taking an over the counter hoodia suppliment. I thought I was going to go into cardiac arrest. I would not combine antidepressents with certain herbal caffeine supplements. Then again, everyones chemistry is different. Just be careful.

Your Pharmcist could answer that question best, but I have learned that neither drug should be taken with a drug class called a MAO inhibitor ( trade names Nardil and Parnate ). These are also anti-depressants. Hope this helps.
