A World Heritage Site is a location whose continued existence needs to be protected because of its outstanding cultural or physical legacy for all humankind. The decision is made by 21 members elected by the General Assembly to the World Heritage Committee of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
