What does a distinct horizontal white line on an X-ray of a bone mean?
It could mean many things, but probably is just an anomaly showing a small thick portion in the bone. No one's bones are perfectly smooth and any ridge or line on the bone will cause it to be slightly thicker, therefore more "radio-opaque" (less x-rays get through), which results in a lighter area on the exposure of the film. The simplest answer is that it represents more mineral in the path of the x-rays Obviously if there are some clinical symptoms there could be more to it!
Dry and wet films in x rays imaging?
Traditionally, X-Ray images have been recorded using silver-based film, which needs conventional wet processing in total darkness. The film is heavily silver-laden (much more than in normal camera film for snapshot photography), and is thus expensive. In recent times, digital methods of recording X-Ray images have been developed, which give instant results, easily stored in IT systems, just as normal digital photography does.
What is the X-ray apparatus industry?
Firms in this industry engage primarily in manufacturing irradiation apparatus and tubes for applications such as medical diagnostic, medical therapeutic, industrial, research, and scientific evaluation
Im pretty sure x-ray techs make a lot more than entry level dental assistants. In fact is 100% sure. This isn't an answer but i would recommend staying in the x ray field
First of all, being radiology or x-ray certified along with your dental training means you have gotten your dental radiography license. This license only certifies you to take dental radiographs. X-ray technicians go through a completley different training and schooling than dental assistants. I am a dental assistant in MA and the average starting salary is approximetly $13-$18 per hour depending on the office. Dental specialities such as oral surgery or orthodontics may also increase your salary. When you become more experienced and have some time assisting (Ex. 2-8 years) you can expect higher earnings such as $20-$25 per hour, which is very good for a certificate program!! Most of all make sure you like the office your in!!!

A chest x-ray cannot diagnose bronchitis. A chest x-ray may show pneumonia, but one can have pneumonia with a normal chest x-ray.
Why you use high kvp for chest x-ray?
To get through the grid if there is one. To penetrate and show all thoracic anatomy on the radiograph. To penetrate the mediatinum and show a faint shadow of the spine.
