With RedSn0w there is the option (when jailbreaking) to add multitasking and a homescreen wallpaper.
There are several ways. 1. Download a Cydia tweak called MyOS. 2. Put into the system files. This also allows you to use it when in same mode. You have to edit the file /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/N72AP.plist You do this in iFile. You use the text viewer. Scroll down until you see that it says capabilities. You then add homescreen-wallpaper and then it gives you a homescreen wallpaper no matter what. Do the same for multitasking. Just instead of homescreen-wallpaper, put multitasking. Must be in all lower case to work.
if you have a 3rd or 4th generation iPod touch, yes it will. if you have an older one, you can't
If you have an iPod Touch 2G, then you can't get a home screen wallpaper unless you jailbreak it. You won't be able to multitask either. Apple decided to disable some of the features for the older ipods for god only knows why. But if you have the newest ipod touch, just go to your photos and hit "set as wallpaper" like normal but then it will ask you to "Set as Lockscreen", "Set as Homescreen", or "Set as both".
It depends on what ipod gen. you have. For ipod touch generation 1, 2, and 3, you can't put a background unless you jailbreak your device and get the right app from Cydia. For ipod touch generation 4, select the picture you want and set for your homescreen or wallpaper. As far as I know you don't need to jailbreak Itouch 4 to set a background. :P
If you mean the wallpaper then you have to download a wallpaper app then download the shelves wallpaper you like from there. Then go into settings and select it as you wallpaper
is it from your pictures or drawings?

Upgrade to iOS 4. It's free. It won't work if you have an old iPod Touch (before September 2009) or any 8GB iPod Touch. You'll need to jailbreak to get wallpaper.

i have a ipod touch screen, in fact am writting this on my ipod touh screen! to put a picture on your ipod touch as your wallpaper you first have to go to settings, after you go to settings go to where it says general, after you have gone to general, go to where it says wallpaper. once you have clicked on wallpaper you should see your pictures or the ipods own wallpapers. just click on which ever you want, then when you have picked your wallpaper just press set as wallpaper and then there you go! hope i helped
