In internet Explorer 8, there is an option of doing this already.

  1. Open Internet Explorer 8.
  2. On the toolbar, there is a house icon.
  3. When visitng Google click the drop down from the house and select Add or Change Home Page.
  4. Choose "Add this web page to your home page tabs".
  1. Click Tools > Internet Options and make sure that you are on the General tab

(Note: if Google isn't your home page, you can set it on this tab - use the top section)

  2. Near the bottom of the box you see Tabs section. Click the Settings button in that section
  3. Then in the new box, check (about the 7th button down) the option Open home page for new tabs...
  4. Click OK > OK
  5. Stop the "You've opened a new tab" page from being displayed instead of your home page by ticking the Dont show this page again checkbox when you next open a new tab and see the "blank page" - see http://www.brightvisions.co.uk/IT-FAQ-s/IE-Tab-Shortcut-Keys.html for more details on this.

Job done. Hope this helps! :-) XD- Hitherepal.
