There are two conditions wherein one does not need to use the disk to install a wireless adapter:
1. IF the wireless adapter is a BUILT-IN device and the computer manufacturer has created a device driver folder in the hard drive (local disk C:) or a special partition of the drive for operating system re-installation (along with all the needed system device drivers) or if an image has been created to revert/restore the computer to the original manufacturer's default configuration.
