You go to your inbox, and next to the messages there is a delete option on the left.
If you're talking about the Inbox on your farm that holds 10 messages, they delete as new ones are left for you. You can't, at least to the best of my knowledge, delete them to clear this out.

It is important to delete emails because you have more space in your inbox to get emails.
