Is a Dell Latitude L400 laptop good or bad?
From my personal experience with the Latitude series by Dell, I can tell you straight up: Don't buy it. There are an outrageous number of bugs on the Latitude, even on my Windows 7 Latitude by Dell. To start off, over time if you leave your laptop on for a certain duration of time, I found that the USB would stop functioning. I made sure it wasn't just my laptop. According to about 6 of my other friends who have a Dell Latitude, they all have the exact same problem. Secondly, there is a horrible overheating problem with it. My problem was really bad, despite it having little memory usage taken up with 4 gigs of RAM, it managed to burn so bad that the area that the heat sink is at has completely burned up, and is bent from melting. And that's only some of the bugs. Straight up, don't buy a Latitude.

If you mean a wireless network connection - you should buy a WiFi adapter (USB or PCI or PCI-e), install it in your computer and then set-up a new network connection. If you mean wireless as no-cable-power - there is a problem. Desktop computer uses much more power than laptop and no battery can power it for a time longer than few minutes.
