What is a vandal?
The word Vandal means one who purposefully, willfully or out of ignorance destroys, damages or defaces the property or work of others. This includes both private and public property. A Vandal here in WikiAnswers is a contributor who removes, destroys or otherwise messes with a good answer. They may erase a good answer and place a bad answer. There are also other things a vandal probably could do to be considered a vandal.

When a contributor clicks the red "Report Abuse" button, the question is then forwarded to the Vandal Patrol department. We then have a few of the Vandal Patrol members go through the email and sort out each question individually.

You have to be a supervisor to join the Vandal Patrol because regular contributors cannot warn or expunge vandals - they can only report them. Since regular contributors do not have the power to warn a user for inappropriate behavior on WikiAnswers, only Supervisors can join the Vandal Patrol.
