How has TV changed over time?

It was originally black and white and you couldn't cuss or anything. Now it's full color and you can say pretty much whatever you want. TV has also changed by how big it has got
The most noticeable change is in the way television shows are presented. There used to be no more than 3 minutes of commercials at the top and bottom of the hour, and 1 minute at the quarter hours.

There are more channels. There used to be 3 networks and a PBS that may or may not have come in clearly.

When cable was first available, there were no commercial interruptions. Need I say more?

Early TVs had tubes that made it possible. I know we have circuit boards and such, now.

TV changes over the time by having black and white showing on the TV instead of colors like we have today. in the olden days their where show that your parents loved like the Brady Bunch which is still popular to little kids because if you go on to TV land u will see that show on. Today all the Cartoons that will like are Spongebob Tom and Jerry Ben 10 Suite life of Zach and Cody. So before there wasn't good shows on but now shows have color and lots of cartoons.

Definately more violence and a lot more sex/sex appeal, even for regular t.v. A big part of me doesn't even see why parents are letting their kids watch some of these shows anymore with as young as they are. You now have t.v. shows on with teens getting drunk, doing drugs, having sex, getting pregnant, and showing that it is ok when in all actuality, would you want your kid doing any of that? Monkey see monkey do is all I can say.

When first introduced, TV was black and white only - now colour is universal.

More recent changes are to solid state electronics (as distinct from valve technology); Flat solid state display screens (as distinct from CRT display; and soon in New Zealand, the transmission system is to change to digital from analog.

For many folk, this will involve a change to a satellite source as distinct from broadcast.

Television has improved it's quality of picture and variety of shows. Television has also improved enough to allow parents to add parental blocks for their children.
