Well, it depends on yourself. See, if you be careful a little bit and not expose too much of your personal info, it's really safe. You have to make sure you only accept and add people you actually know, for example. And try to avoid internet money transactions and things. Don't ever make deals or decide to meet someone in reality because they said so on Facebook. Even though you know them, you need to know for sure that it's them who want to talk to you, or that it's them online. Don't ever give out addresses or phone numbers although only your friends can see them, and don't chat with people you don't know.

That way, it will be impossible to be unsafe!!

It's only ever as safe as you make it. You can change your privacy settings to be more or less strict by going to "account" then to "account settings" then to privacy.

Unless you have the strictest privacy settings, don't put any sensitive information (i.e. phone number, home town, etc.)
