Is the Droid Eris fast

I have the driod Eris and the answer to this question depends on how much stuff (for lack of a better term) you have on it. When i first got the phone it was fast as lightning but now it freezes up and is very slow. I have to take my phone to get all of my messages deleted. I have so many messages in my inbox that when i try to master delete them the phone freezes and i have to restart it. internet works pretty fast considering its a phone but the commercials make it look like it would work faster. On YouTube most of the videos wont play. My phone had horrible service where ever i go. I would not recommend the driod Eris, i have heard the Motorola driod id much better.
