What are the Limitations in a word processor module?

Word is a word processor, so it is designed for that particular kind of work. It can be used to do other things, even calculations like a spreadsheet, but you would use something like Excel to do that. It is not a desktop publisher, so it doesn't have the level of functionality for creating plush magazines etc., though the gap between what a word processor can do and what a desktop publisher can do, is not as great as it once was. So it depends on what it is that you want to do.

As well as there being many advantages of using Microsoft Word there are also some disadvantages:

· Compatibility-While written work saved in a word processor is supposedly universal and easily accessible; in reality it may be difficult to access work on computers using different software or older versions of the same software.

· Internet Requirements-Word processing software often depends on fast internet connection for optimal use and easy help-menu access; for users without good Internet access, word processing functionality can be limited.

· Difficult-Microsoft Word has advanced functions which may be difficult for some learners to pick up on.
