There is no area code +1 391 in North America (USA, Canada, etc.), nor are there any valid international numbers beginning with +39 1 (+39 is Italy, but there are no numbers beginning with +39 1.). It is possible that there is an area code 391 in some other country.

It is also possible that the 391 number on your caller ID display was faked. Unfortunately for the rest of us, it is very easy for a telemarketer or a criminal to send falsified caller ID information. Be cautious when answering a call if the number on your caller ID is clearly bogus.

(The plus sign means "insert your international access prefix here." From a GSM mobile phone, you can enter the number in full international format, starting with the plus sign. The most common prefix is 00, but North America (USA, Canada, etc.) uses 011, Japan uses 010, Australia uses 0011, and many other countries use different prefixes.)
