Why was Facebook a success?

Facebook was, and still is a huge success because of many reasons. It's easy to use. It's fun to keep track of your friend via the internet. And of course, it's free. I think facebook would stay ontop for a long time.

i cant say my answer will be absolutely accurate, but there is a movie called Social Network, its all about how facebook first came about with Marc Zuckerburg. Facebook actually started out as Facemash, Marc Zuckerburg had just been insulted and dumped by his girlfriend and so he started up this sight just amongst Harvard universities (he was a Harvard student) in which people would compare two girls and say Hot or Not and then the winner would be compared with another one and so on. Of course he added his ex girlfriends picture. He then made it so that it was possible to post things, so he posted all about his girlfriend. He had a finance partner and then he joined a famous, rich guy who was like a conman (i cant remember the names sorry) and they started to develop Facebook. People started telling him what would be awesome to have on the sight, for example his friend told him that he met this awesome girl on facebook, but he didnt know if she was in a relationship, so Marc Zuckerburg invented the relationship status feature. since almost every student in the Harvard universities started making use of this, Marc spread it just within the country, and when success continued to explode, it went international. well im pretty sure that's how it is anway (: u should watch the movie :P so thanks for askin me (_)
