An A4LD transmission may not work due to several common issues, such as low or contaminated Transmission Fluid, faulty sensors, or internal mechanical failures like worn clutches or bands. Electrical problems, such as a malfunctioning solenoid, can also prevent proper operation. Additionally, if the transmission control module has faults, it may not communicate effectively with the transmission. Regular maintenance and timely repairs are essential to keep the A4LD functioning properly.
A4LD transmissions were installed in ford aerostars , rangers and explorers
It is possible to fit an M5R1 in place of an A4LD engine. This can be done with certain modifications.
researched it you have a sticking governor in the tranny tailshaft you can polish and reinstall or replace it ammco can do it for about 90.00 dollars on labor
How would i repair a 1993 ford explorer 4.0 liter A4LD Transmission?
it's either the AOD or the A4LD........... the way to tell this is the count the number of bolts on the transmission pan....18 bolts, it's the A4LD........ 14 bolts it's the AOD
There is an electrical cable consisting of 3 wires on the 1992 A4LD. Check to make sure all 3 of these wires are intact, and working. My gray one was snipped on my 1992 A4LD, and after reconnecting it, it worked fine.
Its an A4LD.
No you can't. The A4LD automatic is wimpy and could not handle the torque of a V8. Besides which it will not bolt up behind a V8 (different bolt pattern). Nor does anyone sell anything to adapt it that I know of. The A4LD is for the 4-cylinder and AOD is for the V8. If they both have the same motor you an but it sound like you have a 4 cylinder and the other one have a V6 or V8 and you cant do it then. It wont bolt up. If you have a 4 cylinder you have to use that transmission. They are hard to find and very expencive to build. SORRY to tell you that but I have one myself.
The automatic transmission is an ( A4LD )
As far as I can tell , the A4LD automatic transmission was used in the Ford Ranger from ( 1985 to 1994 model years ) *** transmission code " T " ***
