Unless controlled by some intelligent life form ( Alien to us) what you are hinting at, an electronic smoke screen ( they do exist- as a sort of camouflage screen) would sooner or later dissipate- spread out and thin and disperse. It is not a site normally used for naval maneuvers to test such devices- so one wonders- maybe even the battling bluejackets give the area a wide berth- a Hazardous zone.
The Bermuda Triangle is not listed as any special navigation hazard. If it were, insurance companies would forbid travel through it. It is a made-up mystery, to sell books and such with. Given the amount of traffic, and the weather, losses are about what you would expect for an area that size. A lot of the vanishings either never happened, happened somewhere else, happened during storms regardless of what the reporters said, or are not known to have taken place in the Triangle. If you are really interested, please get a copy of Larry Kusche's book, "The Bermuda Triangle Mystery-Solved".
methane
Fuel exhaustion- as you said a gas- running out of gas- could certainly precipitate an aircraft- to say the least forced landing- which could be a fatal one.
I have never heard this theory but anything is possible.
because the gas under the ocean that sinks ships and air craft is oxygenated in the water.
Many people believe that the pulling energy inside the Bermuda triangle is caused by a force called "Irrepressible Polar Movement" or in simpler terms, uncontrollable actions of the magnetic field around Earth. Some scientists think there may be a greater amount of magnetic force around the Bermuda triangle, but can't explain why not everything that goes into the Bermuda triangle disappears. There are even a few people who think the Triangle is a time machine that sucks planes and ships in to an unknown place in time. That's all I got, so all I can say is, pick your favorite theory or make up your own explanation.
Methanoyl gas bubbles on the floor of the ocean for that area creates sink holes in the water and gases rise to the air affecting the altitude and velocity of the airplanes. Watched this on "Discovery's Dive To The Bermuda Triangle" where 3 or 4 different therioes were tested and proven. Still some unanswered questions though. Interesting program.
There are a lot of different theories: 1.) It is possible that methane gas is released in large quantities beneath the Bermuda Triangle, and this could easily cause engine trouble in Airplanes by igniting the engines. This could break the boats in half if the methane is released in enormous amounts. 2.) It could be that it is a portal to another dimension. There is merit to this possible theory because there is also another area like the Bermuda Triangle EXACTLY half way around the world. It is called the Devil's Triangle, and the same type of stuff happens in it. 3.) This could be a possible place where aliens monitor us, so if we enter the Bermuda Triangle, they abduct us. 4.) My personal favorite is this one: This could be a time portal. When a ship or plane enters here, it could be transported to another day or age. This has merit due to accounts of people going missing and then later showing up, sometimes days, sometimes weeks, or even more.
Gravity is everywhere! All the forces of nature act there. Some disappearances can be attributed to methane gas eruptions from the sea floor.
It is not officially the reason behind it, it is one of the natural (not supernatural) options. It is commonly used with other natural processes like tornadoes and storms.
There's some people who think that the Bermuda Triangle is a place where a magnetic field is fluctuating because of heavy metals in the soil at the bottom of the ocean. It messes up the compasses and gets people lost. Also, it is theorized that the soil there also has collections of methane gas that erupts with such force that it can tip boats and damage planes.
Missing planes and ships. There has been hundreds of studies about why so many planes and ships either disappear or appear way off course in the Bermuda triangle. Theories range from aliens to gas bubbles in the ocean depth's to magnetic anomaly.
100's because of magic trolls that make huge waves when they pass gas
