Lake Maracaibo in northern Venezuela is often considered an extension of the Caribbean Sea. It is the largest lake in Latin America and is connected to the Gulf of Venezuela, which is part of the Caribbean. The lake's unique brackish waters result from the mixing of freshwater from rivers and saltwater from the Caribbean. Its strategic location and rich Natural Resources make it an important region for both ecology and economy.

Caribbean travel deals and specials are really more about the time of year than the specific companies offering them. That said, three places to look for are Go Caribbean, Caribbean Journey, and Travel Wizard.
