It is debated whether Turkey is a European state or a traditional Asian Muslim state. Anyway it is subjective. For example if EU members decide that Turkey belongs in Europe then the whole system will consider Turkey as European country. Like future maps will include Turkey in Europe. If on the other hand, Turkey declares itself as Asian then the whole system will tend to consider Turkey as Asian.
