Australia has several different time zones during summer. During summer, when some Australian states have daylight saving, New Zealand is ahead as follows:

  • Ahead of Queensland by 3 hours
  • Ahead of New South Wales, Tasmania, ACT and Victoria by 2 hours
  • Ahead of South Australia by 2.5 hours
  • Ahead of the Northern Territory by 3.5 hours
  • Ahead of Western Australia by 5 hours

When daylight saving ends in late March/early April, the time difference changes in New South Wales, Tasmania, ACT and Victoria, meaning New Zealand is ahead by 3 hours, and 3.5 hours ahead of South Australia.
