You must fill your parakeet's feeder at least once a day. And don't worry, you parakeet will NOT over eat. For an adult parakeet, on average, this works out to about 4 teaspoons of formulated bird pellets (not seed) per day (about 1/3 an ounce or 14 grams per day), perhaps 1.5 pounds monthly. Pellets are nutritionally balanced and a great way to meet all of the parakeet's food requirements easily. When feeding seed as part of your parakeet's diet, make sure you empty it completely and fill it each day, because empty hulls make make the dish appear full when there is no actual food left.
Despite common belief an all seed diet is not adequate for a budgie. If fed only on seed you may be damaging it's liver and risking illness. A good diet for a budgie is a mix of budgie pellets/crumbles and a good quality seed mix (with as many different seeds as possible). Budgies also require fresh vegetables (spinach, broccoli, corn, carrot, etc) every one to two days as well as constant access to a source of calcium (cuttlebone) and a mineral/iodine block. Most budgies love spray millet; offer in small quantities as it is fattening.
You can make your parakeets diet more complete by also giving your parakeet any of the following: cooked beans, whole wheat bread, cooked rice, pasta; fresh fruits such as apples, Oranges, and Pears, fresh broccoli, carrots, yams, spinach, dandelion greens, other green/orange fruits and veggies. They also enjoy an occasional piece of hard boiled egg (without the shell, of course) or tuna (packed in water), and mealy worms or pesticide-free dandelion greens.
Some things to avoid with budgies are "junk food." apple seeds, chocolate, alcohol, avocado, salt and sugar. Also avoid asparagus, aubergine or eggplant, cabbage, caffeine (tea and coffee), junk food, milk and cream, raw potato, and rhubarb (including the leaves). Wash all vegetables before giving them to your budgie as most have been around pesticides.

it is about $550 a month for six people to eat.
Yes
Yes they can
according to nature it is not possible but if it hungry and unable to find his food then it may eat another parakeet
Not much larger than a 6-month parakeet. They don't grow that much. Without the tail they're about 3 inches. Maybe a little bigger.
Yes but only for a shot period of time, cockatiel food doesn't have the right kinds of nutrition a parakeet needs to function, also its much bigger and harder for the parakeet to eat it so it might cause weakness and lack of food to the parakeet, hope this is helpful to you!
A small peeled slice is fine . Not too much for your little friend , it may cause diarrhea.
