Texas was originally part of Mexico until it gained independence in 1836. Following the Texas Revolution, the Republic of Texas existed until it was annexed by the United States in 1845. The subsequent Mexican-American War (1846-1848) led to the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which established the current borders, with Texas becoming a U.S. state. Today, Texas is fully part of the United States, and no part of it belongs to Mexico.

Texas belonged to Mexico from 1821 to 1836. When Mexico won it's independence in 1821, it included Texas as part of its nation. Texas won its independence from Mexico in 1836 and remained independent until its annexation into the US in 1845.
Mexico offered to buy Texas from Mexico.
First it was part of Mexico, the revolted and was it's own country for about nine or ten years then in 1845 Texas was annexed into the United States
Texas never moved, I believe the Question is "To which Nation was Texas a part before it became part of the U.S." that answer would be Mexico
To summarize, California, Nevada, Utah, Texas and parts of Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and Wyoming were part of Mexico and now belong to the US.
Texas was NOT bought it was won in the Mexican- American war.
Mexico considered Texas as part of its own territory. All the history between the Republic of Texas and Mexico was fraught with disagreements and conflict. Having Texas as part of the US, however was too much to bear for Mexico. The situation soon became a war between the USA and Mexico.
