The University of New Haven Police Department provides full-service protection twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. All officers have been fully trained through the State of Connecticut Police Officers Standards and Training Council Academy and have full power and ability to make arrest. The officers patrol the campus in many forms, police cruisers, mountain bikes, Golf carts and even on food. Not to mention there are five certified dispatchers who watch the office to take care of radio and telephone communications and assist the many students and staff who visit the department with numerous problems or concerns. The department comprises 16 sworn positions.
