America is not mentioned by name as it did not exist when Scripture was written. That being said, the entire planet and every nation in it will be affected by the events described in Revelation.

One rises up out of the water, which represents "peoples, nations, tongues" (Rev. 17:15), and the other beast rises up out of the earth.Many believe that this "sea" beast is Papal Rome, which ruled the earth for 1260 years between 538 - 1798. And this matches the fact that Rome arose to power in Europe, amongst many different "peoples, nations and tongues".So the "earth" beast would be a nation that in contrast to rising up out of many nations, peoples and tongues, would rise up out of a widerness area. This matches America, which arose from the "wilderness". And the description of the beast matches that of America. It has two horns like a lamb. So it would be a lamb-like nation (Christian nation). But it would speak like a dragon. Do we see America (the "Christian" nation) speaking like a dragon? We do! Also, the two horns represent "powers". This matches the two powers of America... Civil Liberty and Religious Liberty, or the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

The Bible does not mention America, but the size or importance of a nation is irrelevant as to whether it is mentioned in prophecy or not. The Bible's prophecies are 'Israel-centric' : that is, things are only mentioned if they relate to Israel in some way. Because America's leaders have rejected the God of Israel and follow other gods [small 'g'] instead, then God has therefore rejected America.

1 Samuel 8:7 MKJV

(v.7) And Jehovah said to Samuel, "Listen to the voice of the people in all that they say to you. For they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them."

I believe that, just as ancient Israel went into captivity because they rejected God, so will those nations of today that have a Christian heritage but are now Laodicean. (And America is not the only such nation: Australia and the UK are not mentioned either) . The Bible does not show America playing any role in the end-times.

Read Ezekiel 38 especially 38:11 which defines the USA specifically

They (Chief prince of Meshech (Rosh or Russia) and Tubal (Kenite) will move against Alaska-USA (moving to take the oil fields most likely) and be destroyed there but not by the army of the USA. They will be destroyed in that frozen land by our Father and his angels, and no flesh man will raise a hand against them. The people of Russia and the Kenite will witness the destruction by the angels personally.

Though the Scripture does not mention the names of many modern Nation-states, a close read of Scripture reveals many clues to who these may be. I refer primarily to Genesis 48 and 49 where the Patriarch Jacob, called Israel, gives the future prophecy to his 12 sons. Two sons, Ephraim(mainly) and Judah, would receive the birthright and sceptre blessings, respectively, that have been since Abraham, with just one Father (Abraham - Isaac - Jacob now Joseph's sons and Judah for all Israel).

Genesis 48:19-20King James Version (KJV)

19And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.

20And he blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh.


In effect, Israel adopted Joseph's two boys and made them his own. Notice what he says of Manasseh - that he too will become a great nation but his younger brother Ephraim will be greater, a multitude or commonwealth of nations.

When one reads the history of mankind, where do you find two brothers where the first becomes the great Commonwealth of Nations ruling the majority of the World and its riches. Then a time after this rule, his brother becomes the single most powerful nation the world has ever known, full of riches. The obvious answer would be the United Kingdom and the USA.

Knowing this when reading prophecy, whenever we see the name Ephraim or Manasseh, even many times Israel (not Judah as it divided and became the Southern Kingdom), we are actually reading about the UK and USA - or the anglo-saxon nations which include: USA, Canada, England, Wales, Scotland, N. Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, and parts of South Africa. They end in being greatly punished by God along with their brother Judah - modern Israel today. Their other brothers like Reuben - modern France are also subjugated to the new Beast Power risen in Europe - in effect the last restoration of the Roman Empire (compare Daniel 2 & 7 here).

The USA is prophecized to lose the 'pride of its power' and trust in 'friends' (European Power led by Germany). These will betray them and enslave them - killing many. But the small remnant will be freed with Christ's 2nd Coming and He will gather the slaves from all the nations and bring them back to the Promised Land of Israel to be His again. God never gives up and His will is always done.
