The only observed holidays common to both Mexico and Texas are New Year's Day (Jan 1st) and Christmas (Dec 25th).

Cinco de Mayo (May 5th) is also celebrated, although for different reasons: while it is considered a minor, non-observed holiday in Mexico (it celebrates a victory over French forces during the Second Franco-Mexican War), it is a Mexican-American pride day in Texas.
