Hemisphere means "half of a sphere".

So in geometrical terms there are only 2 - Northern and Southern hemispheres.

But we also refer to the Western Hemisphere (anything west of the Prime Meridian, usually used to refer to the Americas) and the Eastern Hemisphere (anything east of the Prime Meridian, sometimes referring to Europe, Africa, Australia and Asia) - but these are not true geological "hemispheres" - they are geographical for human purposes.
