The application fee for a US visa (where you're coming from doesn't matter) varies depending on the type of visa. A tourist (or other non-petition) visa is $US 160. Most petition-based visas are $US 190; a few are more expensive. This is a processing fee and is non-refundable, even if you don't actually get the visa.

There also may be a visa issuance fee that varies by country and depends on reciprocity. This is only charged when the visa is actually issued. For Ghana, there's no issuance fee for any type of visa.

Ghana is not eligible for the Visa Waiver Program (which allows people to use an ESTA instead of a visa and is cheaper).
