What is the difference between Europe and United kingdom?

Britain is an island consisting of England, Scotland and Wales. People from it are British. Some people in Northern Ireland also claim British nationality. Europe is a continent of around 50 countries, and includes Britain. The people in Britain are different to people in other parts of Europe, but then the people all around Europe are different to each other, so there is no simple answer to that which distinguishes all other Europeans from the British people.

The United Kingdom is one part of Europe. Europe has over 50 countries in it. The United Kingdom is found off the mainland of Europe. It is both part of Europe and a member of the organisation known as the European Union. Because it is not on the mainland of Europe, it is often referred to separately. Other islands off the mainland of Europe are often referred to in the same way, but they are part of Europe, even if they are not on the mainland of Europe.
