The fauna of Puerto Rico is similar to other island archipelago faunas, with high endemism, and low, skewed taxonomic diversity. Puerto Rico has few wild animals including bats, mongooses, a few snakes, iguanas, lizards, and small frogs called coqui. Puerto Rico has some insects including mole crickets and termites that damage buildings and crops. Fish include barracuda, herring, marlin, mullet, pompano, sharks, snappers, spanish mackerels and tuna.

Animals in Puerto Rico are mostly Cattle, Horses and Dogs. Chickens are also raised in Puerto Rico.
