The Aztec Empire.
The Aztec Empire was conquered by an alliance between Spanish conquistadors led by Hernan Cortes (1485-1547), and the Tlaxcalan Lordship, which provided over 100,000 warriors to conquer their bitter enemies, the Aztecs.
Hernán Cortés conquered the Aztec Empire between 1519 and 1521. He arrived in Mexico in 1519, allied with various indigenous tribes, and captured the Aztec capital, Tenochtitlán, in August 1521. This marked the fall of the Aztec Empire and the beginning of Spanish colonization in the region.
The Aztec Empire was the last empire to rule Mexico before the Spanish came.
