The American style osteopathy (which has surgery and medications) is a regulated health profession in Ontario (Canada) exactly in the same category as medicine, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario regulates osteopathic physicians.
The European style osteopathy (co surgery, no medications) also known as osteopathic manual practice is not yet a regulated health profession in Ontario. However the osteopathic manual practitioners in Ontario are working towards making regulation happen.
To this end College of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners of Ontario (COMPO); http://www.fb.com/compontario has been founded by OMPs in Ontario to regulated osteopathic manual practice in Ontario.
DOMP stands for Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice offered by osteopathic colleges that offer a diploma program in osteopathy (between 1000 to 2000 hours of osteopathic education), such as the Osteopathic College of Ontario, Canadian College of Osteopathy, Southern Ontario College of Osteopathy, Canadian Academy of Osteopathy & National Academy of Osteopathy (NAO). DO stands for Doctor of Osteopathy ( trained outside of the United States) offered by osteopathic universities that offer a degree program in osteopathy (between 3000 to 4500 hours of osteopathic education), such as the National University of Medical University (NUMSS).

British School of Osteopathy was created in 1915.
There are many osteopathic schools, colleges and universities that offer osteopathic health related courses online. However there are only two schools that offer the osteopathy program in full through online education without the need to attend campus. However they both offer campus based education as well. The National Academy of Osteopathy, based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada offers an online diploma in osteopathic manual practice (4 to 8 months) and another World Health Organization compliant program in osteopathic rehabilitation sciences (4 years). The National University of Medical Sciences in Madrid, Spain offers an online bachelor of science in osteopathy (3 years full time) and a doctor of osteopathy (4 years) program. The DO degree program is WHO compliant. Both osteopathic schools are accredited by the Council on Manual Osteopathy Education and are approved members of the International Osteopathic Association, The Canadian Manual Osteopathy Examining Board & the International Osteopathy Examining Board.
