Most of Central Asia was owned by the Soviet Union, while East Asia was owned by Japan. In World War II, Central Asia was under Russian control. Kazakhstan, Uzebkstan, Kyrgystan and Azerbaijian were all part of the Soviet Union. The only country in East Asian controlled by Russia was Mongolia, for they did not want to be part of the Japanese Empire.
