Iran remained neutral in WWII. However, Hitler was very friendly towards Iran. He sent many weapons, tanks, planes, and even a steel mill to gain an alliance with Iran. Regardless of this, Iran remained neutral. However, the allies were displeased with the fact that Iran would allow the axis rights within its borders. As a result, British, American, and Russian forces occupied Iran and forced Reza Shah to abdicate in favor of his son. For Iranians, this was a crime, as they were a neutral country.
