Why did Japan invade indochina?

China conquered what was called North Vietnam in 111 BCE and ended its control over the Vietnamese in 939 CE. China invaded Vietnam in 1979 in response to Vietnam's 1978 invasion of Cambodia. Vietnam aligned itself with the Soviet Union during the Sino-Soviet Split and Cambodia under the Khmer Rhouge was aligned with China. China and Vietnam have a long and antagonistic history which remains to this day.

the mongols attacked china for a few reasons. he first one is that one of gengis khan wives (or something) got taken by the chinese. the second is the fact that china controlled the silk trade. silk was s luxury to the mongols. and thirdly they wanted to expand their empire

During the Ancient China era; territory as buffer zones, raw material, seaport availability, national security. During the 20th & 21st centuries, the current China across it's northern border has shown no desire for conquest...other than a border dispute in '79. And during that incident, the Red Chinese quickly learned that the former NVA (North Vietnamese Army) was one tough army! Apparently Red China forgot (or didn't care) that the NVA had just graduated from the toughest college in history...10 years of combat with the US Army and US Marines.

Technically they reinforced the north koreans, not invaded.

They did this because they were fearful of a united korea allied with the united states. They(rightfully) saw this as a threat to their security, because the Koreans would have hosted American military bases right on their border with China.
