Ramses II (sometimes spelled Ramesses II), known as Ramses the Great and Ozymandias, is regarded as the most powerful pharaoh of the Egyptian Empire. He was the third pharoah of the Nineteenth Dynast and reigned from 1279-1213 BCE. He led several military expeditions into Syria, Nubia, and Libya, regained control over Canaan, built cities, temples, and monuments. He was originally buried in the Valley of the Kings.
im not sure but i think it was in Egypt
pharaohs told people what to do in Egypt and make pyramids for the pharaohs tomb when they died. Also they treated pharaohs as a child of there god Ra
People believe Ramses II misrepresented his battles on public monuments to enhance his image and legitimize his rule. By exaggerating victories and minimizing defeats, he aimed to project strength and divine favor, thereby reinforcing his authority and inspiring loyalty among his subjects. This practice was common among ancient rulers, as public monuments served as powerful propaganda tools to craft a desired narrative of leadership and success.
Ramses likely ordered misleading information about his battles to be inscribed on public monuments to enhance his image as a powerful and victorious ruler. By portraying himself as a conqueror, he aimed to bolster his legitimacy, inspire national pride, and consolidate his authority among his subjects. Such propaganda would serve to intimidate potential adversaries and secure his legacy for future generations. Ultimately, it was a strategic move to maintain control and reinforce the divine right of kings in ancient Egypt.
A combination of propaganda nad legacy. The temples and so on built by Ramses are covered with inscriptions about his reign and his great deeds and achievements. Many of his statues have inscriptions aimed at those viewing them long after Ramses was dead, saying how mighty he was and this statue was evidence of that. Btw ancient Egyptian pyramids and so on WERE NOT built by slaves.Contemporary records and archaeological evidence has conclusively proved they were built by professional construction workers, who were well treated and well paid.
