Europe is a often cocidered a separate region because of its large size. It is not a distinct landmass such as Australia or Arica, but an appendage or a subcontinet o the world's greatest landmass, Euarsia (Europe and Asia).
The Ural Mountains separate European Russia and Asian Russia. The Caucus Mountains separate Russia (European Russia to be exact) from the Middle East (an Asian region), not Asian Russia.

Not really. The Mediterranean region of Europe is the warmest year-round with temperatures rarely dropping below 55˚F. Temperatures usually stay in the 60-70s˚F region but can exceed 80˚F in the summer months easily. Eastern Europe is also very hot during the summer, but is cold during the winter. Western Europe usually stays mild year-round but warms up during the summer. Northern Europe usually stays mild year-round but is freezing during the winter.
